As a bike commuter, finding the right bag for carrying all that is needed for work and beyond can be a challenge. Two Wheel Gear, a company based in Vancouver, BC, has met the challenge, and introduced the Pannier Briefcase Convertible bag. The pannier style bag has been thoughtfully designed with the cycling commuter in mind. The bag has built-in mounting hooks that attach to nearly all racks found on bicycles, and the hooks securely fasten the bag with a simple yet effective locking system. It’s a breeze to attach, and even easier to remove. When not in use, the mounting hooks tuck away in a zippered compartment. The outer pocket contains a bright yellow rain cover that makes the bag completely immune to a downpour. The cover also has a reflective highlight and hook for a light that replicates the one on the bag itself. Most lights will easily attach to the hooks, and the positioning is great for when the bag is worn over the shoulder. The next pocket has slots for pens and pencils, as well as a lanyard for a set of keys. Next up is another pocket with more organizational pouches and slots. This is a good spot for an iPad or other tablet. Lastly, there is a padded pocket which can accommodate up to a 15.6″ laptop, as well as paperwork and other loose items. What I find amazing after describing all these pockets is how slim and neat the bag’s outer appearance is. The bag does not look bulbous, rather it seems quite small, which is, of course, deceiving, as the bag can hold everything I need for my workday, and more. Lastly, the bag also has two expandable mesh water bottle pockets on either end. Two Wheel Gear has designed an incredibly well thought out piece of equipment for the commuter. The feature-rich pannier bag is easy to use, simple in design, and incredibly functional.
