Through good fortune, I discovered a local wheel builder I hadn’t heard of before. The story started last October, when I ordered a custom wheel set from a wheel builder in the Southwest. Unfortunately, my experience was not a good one in terms of time, and quality of build. Never the less, I soldiered on, until my rear wheel spokes were singing so loudly, it was time for a fix. Enter Wheelbuilder. I called and was connected to Vicki Appel. She was incredibly knowledgable, and led me in the right direction for a solution to my problem. I headed out to Wheelbuilder, where my wheels were checked for tension. It was very uneven despite the wheels being true. I opted for fresh spokes, and nipples they source from the San Diego area. The wheels were ready for pick up just two days later. I couldn’t be happier with the results. This company is top notch in terms of professionalism and quality of product. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fresh set of wheels. Also, they have a wheel weight calculator that is really useful and fun.
