Today’s Los Angeles Times features an article by Steve Lopez on the thrill of commuting in LA. The article, entitled Commuting by bike is an L.A. adventure, speaks about the dangers and the obvious benefits of riding as opposed to driving. It’s an interesting take on the subject from someone who doesn’t consider himself a cyclist. And a perfect bike for commuting is pictured above: another Rob English creation, this one Julian’s winter city bike. I can’t get enough of looking through his website and checking out all his amazing builds.
Thanks for the tip on the article. Love the Rob English bikes! Wish I had room for another bike!
Nice article. And as part of the 1% that commutes to work by bicycle (50% of the time anyway)- I appreciate the attention. It’s a shame to me that so many people are so opposed to cyclist safety. I often wish that I lived in a town where the cycling option was much better embraced. Whenever I hear the aggravation that motorists express over new bike lanes- I guess my hope is that they’ll just get frustrated enough to try getting on a bike! I know it’s not viable for everyone- yet- but with more and more bike lanes added I would hope that people will find their options increased. Let’s hope.
